procell Microchanneling

Moodz is now offering our clients the Procell Microchanneling System! It’s a revolutionary approach to skincare. Procell has garnered a reputation as the gold standard of microneedling, having been recently awarded the Aestheticians’ Choice Award for best microneedling device of 2018, 2019, and 2020!

Breaking down skin or muscle tissue to stimulate new cell growth and healing is not a new idea. Collagen induction therapy, also known as skin needling or micro-needling, has been in use for over two decades, but microchanneling by Procell is an advanced and precise procedure.

The procedure uses tiny micro-needles to penetrate the skin, creating micro-channels that stimulate natural healing and the creation of new collagen.

After just a few microchanneling treatments, the natural healing process stimulated by micro-channeling will create a new layer of collagen that considerably improves the look and feel of your skin.

Microchanneling is for more than just faces! It can be done anywhere you have skin imperfections that you would like to target. Skin conditions that may see benefits from Procell Microchanneling treatments include but may not be limited to: Acne and Acne Scarring, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Hyperpigmentation, Large Pores, Loss of Elasticity, Rosacea, Hair Loss, and Stretch Marks.

Many patients find the micro-channeling treatment comfortable and relaxing. Some patients report a sensation of warmth, and some patients momentarily feel tiny, negligible needle pricks.

Microchanneling temporarily stamps hundreds of thousands of micro-injuries in the skin to be repaired by the production of new healthy collagen. A perfect amount of gentle stimulation to the skin produces “wound-healing” without a wound! Post-treatment application of serum containing naturally-derived growth factors and peptides amplifies healing and restores biological communication that an aging immune system no longer provides.

MICROCHANNELING PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

Before your Microchanneling appointment:

  1. If you have frequent episodes of cold sores, taking acyclovir or valcyclovir starting one day prior to your microchanneling will reduce the likelihood of a recurrence due to your treatment.
  2. Discontinue retinol (2% or higher) or tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.
  3. If your liver, kidneys and immune system are healthy, taking an NSAID such as Ibuprofen before treatment may reduce your discomfort.
  4. If possible, please arrive at the office without makeup on, and with a clean face.
  5. If you are being treated for hair loss, please arrive at the office with the shortest haircut possible. Please do not apply sprays or gels to your hair prior to your treatment.
  6. If you are being treated with PRP or PRF drink and extra 24-32 oz of water for two to three days prior to treatment.

MICROCHANNELING FAQS:

What should I do before my appointment?

  1. Avoid exposure to sunlight for forty-eight hours prior to a micro-channeling treatment.
  2. Before the treatment begins, you will need to remove any makeup or skin moisturizers.

At the conclusion of a micro-channeling treatment session, some patients experience a mild redness in the treatment area. It lasts no more than about ninety minutes. You will be able to use makeup again after about twenty-four hours.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of Microchanneling treatment sessions that you need will depend on exactly what we are treating and what results we are expecting. If looking just a bit younger is the goal, many patients need no more than one or two treatment sessions. If we are dealing with deeper wrinkles or old acne scars, three to six treatment sessions may be needed. Everyone’s needs and expectations are different. Our Procell Certified Estheticians will develop a Microchanneling treatment plan that meets your own specific personal needs.

How much time should elapse between Microchanneling treatments?

Most patients need four to six weeks between sessions. Procell Micro-Channeling treatments are reliably safe when conducted by trained skincare professionals. Side effects are extremely rare. Some patients see their initial results in two weeks or less, and the more micro-channeling treatments you receive, the more improvement you will see over time.

What are the restrictions?

Procell Microchanneling is probably not for you if:

  1. You are pregnant
  2. You have diabetes
  3. You are taking Accutane
  4. You are undergoing chemotherapy
